Q. Does the control module fit in front of, or behind the bracket assembly? The picture makes it appear to slide through the hole from the front.
A. The control module mounts behind the bracket assembly. Tension from the cable secures the control module to the rear of the bracket. The rounded nose of the control module allows it to self-center and remain parallel to the cable as the brake pedal arm is depressed and slightly rotates. The control module can be removed when not in use by pulling rearward on the module and sliding the cable out through the cut-out on the bracket. You can see the cut-out slit on the far right of the picture. Q. Where is the best place to mount the Ultima display module? A. The Ultima display module can be mounted in any position as long as it doesn't exceed 18 inches from the centerline to the brake pedal. Choose a location that is easily accessible to the controls on the face of the display module. With so many applications, it’s impossible for us to recommend a specific location and that decision should be yours. Q. How long does it take to install the Ultima? A. In most cases, about 30-45 minutes. Installation is very straightforward and simple. Take some time to become familiar with the instructions before beginning. Installation time should not be the deciding factor in choosing a brake control. The overall performance and safety of your tow vehicle and trailer should be foremost. Q. Will pushing the manual contol button cause my trailer brake lights to come on? A. No. Since the Ultima does not use the brake light wire to activate the brakes, pushing the override button will not activate the trailer brake lights. Q. I have a medium duty tow vehicle with air brakes. Will the Ultima work with air brakes? A. It should work fine with air brakes if your truck has the swinging type brake pedal arm found on light duty trucks. Q. What is your return policy? A. If the Ultima arrives damaged from shipping, call us and we will send a replacement immediately upon verification that the damaged unit has been shipped back to us. In the unlikely event that the unit ever fails, return it to Jordan Research Corp. for repair or replacement. Only Jordan Research Corp. has the special equipment necessary to repair or do extensive troubleshooting. Q. What makes the Jordan 2020 Ultima the best brake control? A. That is our opinion. As RV enthusiasts, we came through the ranks of ramp/time based, pendulum, and inertia type controls and finally decided to try the 2020 Ultima. It became obvious to us that it's the Ultimate. Q. I'm planning a trip soon and need it quick. Can you ship it overnight? A. Yes. Overnight express mail is $17.85 to most areas in the U.S. and guaranteed by USPS to arrive by 3:00 PM. Somebody will have to be at the address to sign for the package unless you tell us to waive signature. Call us at 888-828-1893 to arrange overnight shipping. Q. Will you ship to Canada? A. Yes. Q. Why do you ship via USPS Priority instead of UPS? A. We chose USPS because it's the fastest for the best rate and delivery confirmation is free. It usually takes only two business days, however, they advertise 2-3 days. It also allows people with a PO box to receive the Ultima at their post office. We have never had a loss or damage claim. |
